| Therapeutic Riding
Therapeutic riding also known as adaptive horse riding or Equine Assisted Activities is essentially horseback riding lessons that are designed to meet each student’s individual physical and emotional needs. Basic equestrian skills are taught and structured to gently challenge the students through exercises, games and movement. The benefits are endless. Students gain more than strength and flexibility, they develop friendships, improve confidence and self-esteem. A typical lesson includes: - Meet & greet - Obtain equipment with assistance as needed - Help catch horse in paddock - Groom & tack-up - Riding component (for some this is a short walk for the therapeutic benefits or for others a true riding lesson) - Un-tack & return horse to paddock - Return equipment
